Name:
Dellafain
(When in need of a “Human” name, she calls herself Delia Fontain)
Age:
N/A
Date of Birth:
N/A
Place of Birth:
N/A
Race:
Water Goddess
Height:
5’ 3”
Weight:
128 lbs.
Appearance:
Dellafain has an unsurprisingly old-fashioned and controlled style of clothing, most often some sort of light blue outfit more fitting with the later 1800s than to the present day. She bears short, dirty brown hair and bright blue intelligent eyes that rarely miss a thing. Her ears are sharp from living around shushed talking, with a petite figure and small but full lips. Living inside has made her skin almost colorless, as if it has been bleached with a pale luster. Small hands and a short height, and all these features give others the impression she is fragile, easily preoccupied, and could never be a threat. In a nutshell, she fits the bill of a Water Goddess quite well.
Powers:
Dellafain quickly regenerates almost any physical wounds. Stab her, shoot her, punch her, it won’t get you very far. She also has incredibly enhanced strength, speed, and senses far beyond those of humans.
Naturally, she can control water of any sort to do whatever she pleases. This can range anywhere from making a water balloon in someone’s back pocket explode, to making aswimming pool turn into a bunch of water-swords, to making the sea itself laugh at the local fishermen.
Finally, she can bestow the locked powers inside humans to make them into Water Warriors, as well as take them away if she sees fit.
Weaknesses:
The only way to kill her is by complete and total destruction of her body. And even then she wouldn’t be dead; she’d just be without a form for a long while. She isn’t a Goddess for nothing, after all.
Weapons:
Dellafain uses her water-based powers as her defense, and for good reason. A few moments without hydration of any sort wouldn’t be very pleasant for any human foes. The closest thing of hers to an actual weapon is the fact that she constantly carries with her a simple plastic bottle of water.
History:
Ever since humans had the ability to create, Dellafain has always had too much of an affinity for their knowledge, particularly their language and machines. Their ingenuity never ceased to captivate her, and as such, she acquired a very strange manner of speaking and behaving. She’s always appeared to be a bit aloof to the other goddesses, and easily more laid-back in herself.
Immediately upon touching down on Earth to create her Water Warriors, she was overcome with the strange hunger for human theories and knowledge. In her spare time (which was few and far between during those times) she would listen to the words of humans and read their writing. The content was simplistic to her, obviously, but the way that they said what they said captured her attention easier than anything else could.
Finally, when Naro was sealed away, she devoted almost all of her time to protecting and hearing from the humans. Their flaws were strange and foreign to her, which made them all the more interesting: it allowed for them to think and act in unpredictable ways, much unlike the deities she was used to. She read book upon book upon book, becoming somewhat of a shut-in for the period of time Naro was sealed within the dark dimension.
After Naro broke through the dimensional prison, she started taking things far more seriously than ever before. Every bone in her body that was once unmotivated immediately perked up, since she was (and is) very protective of the humans despite their flaws. With some simple effort, she was able to secure a job as an English teacher in a local Chicago high school, and recruited Water Warriors whenever she saw fit. The students she didn’t bestow these powers upon often found that they could relax a bit during English, if not only because of their strangely enthusiastic teacher.
She often speaks in a very baffling manner, and her personality has been ironically described as ‘airy’ by quite a few people. She knows to separate herself from humans at most times, though indulging in mortal knowledge and pleasures can always be a treat for her. Her favorite part of bestowing the powers of a Water Warrior upon a potential human has always been teaching them the basics, and letting them battle evil in ways that they think up for themselves.
