{name:Adrian Rorik#|#picture:5}Name:
Adrian Marylnn Rorik
(She keeps the nickname Bloody Mary in her assassinations)
Age:
26
Date of Birth:
5/06/81
Place of Birth:
Bucharest, Romania
Appearance:
Adrian has bright red eyes, and her reddish-brown hair is cut in a short, tomboy-ish style. She’s of Romanian background, though she looks next to nothing like the typical Slavic person. Her skin is quite pale most of the time, and while this isn't strange for a half-breed, she doesn't have the grace and allure that other vampires have. This is probably due to the combination of her sarcastic and ornery view on life, as well as the fact that she gives off something of a masculine appearance. Her clothing varies from time to time, though she most often wears a dark red dress shirt, loose ties of various colors, black or blue jeans and a particular brown leather duster coat that goes halfway down the back of her calves. She almost always has the coat on, and her most common footwear is a pair of forest-green combat boots.
Height:
5’ 5”
Weight:
120 lbs.
Race:
Half-vampire and half-human
Powers:
She has all of the normal vampire powers such as increased strength, speed, reaction time, regeneration and the like. She’s a Daywalker, so she doesn’t have most of the vampire weaknesses, most notably she can walk about in the sunshine without a care. However, Adrian’s real power all lies in her super enhanced blood. It has a high iron count, and can be manipulated to her will, i.e. when outside of the body, she can form weapons within a logical stand point. In other words, swords, daggers, sharp pointy sticks, anything that can be jabbed into the gut of someone else. She can also regulate her own body temperature to a certain extent and has an extremely high white blood cell count, which causes her to be immune to almost all sickness (mostly colds and stuff like that... extreme diseases are still a possibility).
Weaknesses:
Adrian suffers from a normal weakness to silver and blessed objects, but her blood causes problems as well. Despite the idea that Adrian contains the cure to the common cold in her blood stream, she still has a lower blood count than most people, and unless she forces her blood back into her after use, she loses that amount. Her body does not also produce her blood as quickly as it is needed, thus Andy has to find “Other Methods” of replenishing what is lost. In battle Adrian can clot her blood, but only so much of it at a time, so if she is too badly wounded she can still bleed to death.
Weapons:
Sângerând Duminica ((Bloody Sunday in Romanian))- a sword with intricate detail and more Katana like in structure and appearance with a blood red hilt, and the Baiser de la Mort ((Kiss of Death- French))- a broad sword with a black hilt and gold thread weaved into it. Those are her main weapons, the rest of them varying from throwing knives to maces, to even pens with hidden poison compartments. It just depends on the situation. She also keeps the dagger of her brother’s, Inaripat Cavaler ((Winged Knight, Romanian)), on her at all times.
She also has two AMT Automag V pistols, named the Vedova and the Morgen, meaning “Widow” in Italian and “Morning” in German, respectively. 50 cal. AE rounds, loaded with 7-bullet magazines and a surprisingly light weight for the punch they pack. They’re silver and blessed, of course, to stand a decent chance against any Bogeyman she encounters.
History:
In order to better understand Adrian’s past, you must understand her parent’s background. Her mother and fathers names were, respectively, Kathrine and Jacob Rorik, but they went by the assassin alias Yin & Yang, due to their tactics being polar opposites. Her mother always took on all the killing, robbing, sneaking about... Basically the dirty work. Her father always grabbed every scrap of intel possible, and laid out masterfully crafted plans for her to execute (no pun intended). In case earlier wasn't enough of a hint, they were guns-for-hire. Contract killers, robbers, whatever the job was, they’d do it. Before she was born, Adrian’s mother gave birth to Scott, who is exactly two months older than her. However, due to a contract gone awry, her mother had to pay someone without money, forcing her into becoming a one-time prostitute. Unfortunately, that father was a vampire, and he impregnated her mother with the seed that would be Adrian Marylnn Rorik...
Adrian was born in Bucharest, Romania with her half-brother Scott. However, her parents were hired to do a bank robbery, but somehow the cops found out beforehand, and set up a properly-placed sniper that took the both of them out. That left Adrian and Scott, the two of them, as orphans at age three. They were (due to a suspiciously changed will) left to their uncle, who was a sort of mob boss with a small army of child assassins. When they turned seven they were also trained, Adrian’s ever growing intellect making her an even greater adversary for those she was paired with during training. She and Scott were fast learners, and sent on their first mission when they were only nine years of age. Adrian had a thirst for blood ever since, and her ruthless killing earned her the name of “Bloody Mary” (coming from her middle name being Marylnn). She was eventually given the Duminica, the sword she still uses to this day.
But fate never seemed to like our little Mary. When her and Scott turned 12, Adrian found herself with an unquenchable thirst, inability to stay warm, or keep her cuts and scrapes from clotting. Scott avoided getting the vampire gene, so his abilities were simply that of a highly-trained normal human. When all the other children (there was really only five others besides herself and her brother) got sick, she remained healthy, and her eyes slowly turned a red color.
Within a year, she had discovered her ability to create small objects with her blood. Then her first period hit. Now, all the other kids got acne, grew ten feet, or had bad b.o. But our little Andy wanted blood, and not in the usual way of shedding it through her assassinations. Early one morning, it was found that one of the children had killed Adrian and Scott’s aunt, and drained her of her every last drop of the crimson liquid that gives us life. Scott took the blame, resulting in his execution that very evening. That truly sent Adrian over the edge, and caused her to go on a rampage with her new powers.
But she wasn’t the only one with such abilities among the seven assassin children. Three of the others were too, and thus Andy was drawn into a battle to the death that only one of them really died in the process of, since her uncle feared their power and cast them all out into the world. Adrian, now having to survive on her own, made her way to the Canadian border. She needed cash, so she had to hack into her uncle's account and steal over $200,000. Unfortunately, her skills with the computers were a little underdeveloped, and he was able to track her down. He sent many of the loyal assassins after her, forcing her to stow away on a merchant boat and head for Ireland.
The other assassins caught up to her faster than she expected. The second she arrived in a small town near Wexford Harbor, they hit her quick, hard, and quiet- with the same level of ruthlessness she gave to her own victims. She put up a fight, but they had every advantage. However, while they left her unconscious and very near death, they didn’t know she was a half vampire; her head remained on her shoulders, her heart was intact, and she had just enough blood to stay alive.
The next thing Andy knew, she was half-asleep in an unfamiliar hospital room. When she was fully conscious, she soon found out that a couple taking a walk on the edge of town found her and brought her to the hospital. She seemingly had no physical wounds on her when she was found, but she somehow had lost a lot of blood, despite there seemingly nothing wrong with her, save for those “unexplainable” red eyes. To cover up her complete past, she told the doctors that her name was Heather Blanchard, and that she was an only child. Other than that, those were the only outright lies she told, while the rest was just an incomplete truth. She told the hospital staff that she had previously been an orphan in an abusive home, stowed away on the first ship she found, and her red eyes were just a rare (yet “benign”) condition that she really couldn’t explain.
After she literally bit down on and drank an entire I.V. bag of medical blood, her recovery was almost disturbingly swift: it was within a few seconds at the most. Medically speaking, there was really nothing wrong with her anymore, so they had no choice but to discharge her six months later. She was placed in foster care with a rather nice old vicar, his wife, and their 14-year-old son. Of course, it took some major adjusting on both sides. Adrian’s sardonic attitude and strange behavior frustrated them, and their controlled lifestyle confused Andy to no end. The boy, Gordon, took a bit of a liking to Adrian; she was very strange and foreign to him, a welcome change. In time, they became good friends, and eventually Andy told him the truth about her.
Well, if you had a crush on someone who had killed when they were nine years old, you’d be uneasy about your feelings as well. He stopped trusting Adrian and slowly lost his feelings for her, which she wasn’t so easy in giving up. In her mind, there was nothing wrong with killing people that deserve it. Now that Gordon didn’t seem to care about her anymore, the insomnia started to set in for her, and she’d start going for weeks without sleep. It was a stupid crush that she was overreacting about, true, but it was the one thing that was truly stable and sane in her life. Eventually, when Gordon came home with a nice young lady that Adrian wanted to stab, she got fed up with living there and snuck away. By this point, she was sixteen years of age.
She traveled to Chicago in much the same way she traveled to Ireland, but this time by hiding inside of an airplane instead of a boat. She took up her old profession as a contract killer, and continues that to this day with a close eye on the contracts she takes. Her moral guidelines are that she doesn’t kill children, people with loving families, or people that don’t deserve to die: the latter is of her own personal judgment.
